Filmmaker Prakash Jha’s web series – MX Original Series ‘Aashram’ saw major success for both Part 1 and Chapter 2: The Dark Side with Bobby in the lead role as the self-proclaimed Godman ‘Kashipur Waale Baba Nirala’.

This web series, supposedly, is one of the most well-timed and candid Indian crime dramas ever created. In true Prakash Jha style, the web drama is a vivid portrayal of how the Godman in India takes advantage of their devotees to propagate their ulterior agendas. Undoubtedly, there is a lot of mystery, thrill, and emotion attached to this series for its viewers.

After receiving a raving response from the viewers, ‘Aashram’, now critically acclaimed, has won two iconic awards this season, bagging the Landmark OTT Show at the Indian Television Academy Awards 2021 and the Best Actor – Web Series awards at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival 2021 for its lead star Bobby Deol.

Vijay Singh Deol or as we know Bobby Deol is the second scion of Dharmendra, the handsome hunk of Bollywood from yesteryears. With his brief appearance as a child artist in 1977 Dharmendra starrer, ‘Dharamveer’, Bobby made his debut as a lead star in the commercial hit ‘Barsat’ in 1995. Although he has had a string of hits to his credit, he never got what he truly deserved. I presume Bobby is the most underrated actor in Bollywood. After his comeback in 2017, this well-deserved award should prove a boon to his career graph. From those of us who have enjoyed watching this handsome star kid and his charismatic performances, here comes ‘all the best’ for his future. Kudos to the hard work and perseverance. Hope to see many more of such iconic works.
