The recently released book Nutritional Insights for Elephant Health by Dr. Dharmendra Chharang marks a significant contribution to the field of veterinary science, particularly in the specialized domain of elephant care and nutrition. This comprehensive work is designed to cater to a broad spectrum of readers, including veterinarians, researchers, students, educators, animal husbandry professionals, and wildlife caretakers. Dr. Chharang’s academic and professional credentials lend weight to this scholarly work. Currently a Veterinary Surgeon with the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of Haryana, he has served in key positions, including as Deputy Director at the Central Poultry Development Organisation (Western Region) under the Government of India. With an academic journey that includes a BVSc & AH, an MVSc with a Gold Medal, a PhD in Elephant Nutrition, and several additional qualifications, Dr. Chharang brings a rich blend of theoretical expertise and practical experience to his writing. His commitment to the advancement of veterinary science is further reflected in his over 70 published works and active participation in more than 25 national and international conferences.
