Author Interview Article: Taranjot Singh

The Literature Times: Author Taranjot Singh, welcome to The Literature Times. Congratulations on the publication of your book! What feedback do you get from your readers? Please share your thoughts on this book.

Taranjot Singh: I feel truly thankful and happy to see the love and support that my book From Darkness to Light is getting from readers. Many people have shared their thoughts with me, saying that the book touched their hearts deeply. They felt connected to the pain of unemployment, the struggle of daily life, and the lost memories of childhood about which I have written. Their words give me strength and make me feel that my writing has meaning.

This book is incredibly special to me because it comes straight from my heart. I did not use any hard or difficult words. I used simple language so that every person, whether young or old, can understand it and feel the emotions inside. I authored this book during a time when I was feeling low and lost. But instead of staying silent, I chose to express my pain through words. There are many people who are silently suffering, and this book is for them.
From Darkness to Light is not just a book, it is a journey from sadness to hope, from pain to healing. It shows that no matter how dark the path is, there is always light at the end. The positive feedback from my readers has touched me deeply, and it gives me the courage to continue writing for those who are looking for strength, love, and truth in this world.

The Literature Times: What motivates you to become a writer?

Taranjot Singh: I am inspired by the journey of writers like J.K. Rowling. Twelve publishers rejected her first Harry Potter book, but she never gave up. That kind of determination and belief in one’s own story deeply motivates me. Writing, for me, is not just about words—it is about expressing emotions, telling untold stories, and touching lives. Just like Rowling turned her pain and struggles into a magical world that inspired millions, I want to turn my own life experiences into stories that can inspire, heal, and give hope. Every rejection is just a step closer to the right opportunity. I write because I have something to say, and I won’t stop until it’s heard.”

The Literature Times: What are your favourite writing topics? Please tell us a little bit about your literary interests.

The novel The Death of a Hero by Richard Aldington also touched me. It shows the pain of war and the value of life. These writers and stories help me to understand people better and to write with feeling.
