Book Release: December Maahinyaateel Vidnyanyatree (Shaastradnya Jeevan-Charitr Sangrah) by Dr. Vitthalrao Bhi. Khyade

Science has always been humanity’s most powerful instrument of understanding — a bridge between curiosity and creation. The newly released book, December Maahinyaateel Vidnyanyatree (Shaastradnya Jeevan-Charitr Sangrah), authored by the internationally acclaimed scientist and writer Dr. Vitthalrao Bhi. Khyade, celebrates this very spirit of discovery through the life stories of some of the world’s most influential scientists born in the month of December.

The book is part of Dr. Khyade’s ongoing Vigyaanayaatri series — an inspiring initiative aimed at popularizing science through biographies written in Marathi, one of India’s classical Indo-Aryan languages. The December volume focuses on the birth anniversaries of legendary figures such as Sir Kariamanikkam Srinivasa Krishnan, Theodor Schwann, Howard Martin Temin, Irawati Dinkar Karve, Srinivasa Ramanujan Iyengar, and Sir Isaac Newton — scientists whose revolutionary ideas have reshaped the world’s understanding of nature and the universe.

The author thoughtfully aligns this book’s release with Indian National Mathematics Day (22 December), celebrated in honor of the mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan. Through these meticulously researched biographies, Dr. Khyade commemorates the scientists’ immense contributions to knowledge, innovation, and progress. He explores not only what these brilliant minds discovered but also how they thought — the intellectual journeys, challenges, and sparks of imagination that led to their breakthroughs.

Each chapter in December Maahinyaateel Vidnyanyatree is crafted to appeal to both young readers and seasoned scholars. The book highlights how science advances through observation, experimentation, and a passion for truth. Readers gain insights into the way discoveries emerge — from Isaac Newton’s laws that defined classical mechanics to Ramanujan’s infinite series that continue to influence modern mathematics.

Dr. Khyade’s simple yet elegant writing style makes complex ideas approachable, while his deep understanding of science gives the book academic credibility. More than a compilation of biographies, the book serves as a tribute to the timeless quest for knowledge. It reminds readers that science is not confined to laboratories; it lives in the human spirit — in curiosity, perseverance, and imagination.
