2021 : Modi Cabinet Expansion

43 leaders were sworn in as ministers in the Modi government as part of a massive cabinet expansion. The government includes Jyotiraditya Scindia, Pashupati Kumar Paras, Bhupender Yadav, Anupriya Patel, Shobha Karandlaje, Meenakshi Lekhi, Ajay Bhatt, and Anurag Thakur, among others.

President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Home Minister Amit Shah, among others, were present during the swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Darbar Hall.

Sarbananda Sonowal, 58-year-old, is a 2-time Lok Sabha MP from Assam. Having been a 2-time MLA, he served as Assam’s popular Chief Minister
Dr. Virendra Kumar, a 67-year-old Lok Sabha MP for Tikamgarh in Madhya Pradesh, is in his 7th term as a member of Parliament, making him one of our most senior lawmakers. He formerly served as PM Narendra Modi’s Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs. He has worked in the public sector for almost four decades in various roles.

Jyotiraditya M Scindia, a 50-year-old Rajya Sabha MP from Madhya Pradesh, is now serving his fifth term in the legislature. In previous governments, he served as Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power and Union Minister of State for Commerce and Communications. Narayan Tatu Rane, 69, is a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament for Maharashtra, currently serving his first term. He was previously a six-time Maharashtra MLA and a one-time Maharashtra MLC. He has held the positions of Chief Minister and Cabinet Minister of Maharashtra, where he was responsible for significant portfolios such as Industries, Revenue, Ports, and Animal Husbandry.

Ashwini Vaishnaw, 50, is an Odisha Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament. He was a former IAS Officer from the 1994 batch who held prominent positions for 15 years and was notably well-known for his contribution to the Infrastructure PPP framework.

Ajay Bhatt, 60, is the Member of Parliament for Nainital-Udhamsingh Nagar in Uttarakhand, where he is serving his first term. He served in the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly three times. As a Cabinet Minister in the Uttarakhand government, Bhatt was responsible for responsibilities such as Parliamentary Affairs, Health, and Disaster Excise.
