This is the first book on this issue by an Indian author. English is very simple and easy to understand by anyone not having English as their first language. In “Understanding Narcissistic Abuse”, I have imparted experience and wisdom gained from five years of book and research articles reading, observing behavioural patterns of narcissistic people around me, academic studies through my psychology graduation and writing career as a relationship and mental health blogger on my website www.theexhaustedsouls.com. I aim to clear the emotional and irrational fog covering the cognition and reveal the narcissistic relationship dynamics that are hard to understand, even by the victims who are directly involved and abused on a daily basis by the narcissists in their life.
An Interview With Author Annu Pandey
Priya (Authors Tree Publishing) : When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
Author Annu Pandey : By God’s grace, I won a blogging contest for my first blog a few years ago. This was the first time I realised how much people enjoy reading what I have to say. That’s when I started blogging, and the enormous response I’ve received from people all around the world has pushed and inspired me to become an author throughout the years.
Priya (Authors Tree Publishing) : How long does it take you to write this book?
Author Annu Pandey : This book took me 6-7 years to think about, write, and finish.
Priya (Authors Tree Publishing) : What is your work schedule like when you’re writing?
Author Annu Pandey : A fixed schedule is not in place. At home when no one needs my services, neither my three wonderful children (a teen, a kid and a toddler) nor my husband, I write. Most often, that happens at night when everyone’s asleep.
Priya (Authors Tree Publishing) : What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
Author Annu Pandey : One of my most interesting writing quirks is that I pay attention to everything around me. Because I am mainly interested in human psychology and behaviour, sometimes seeing someone or something triggers my mind to come up with an entire blog post, book chapter, book topic etc. After jotting it down in my head, I draft it as soon as I have time.
Priya (Authors Tree Publishing) : Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
Author Annu Pandey : When I observe real-life situations, read or watch something online, ideas pop into my head, which I then convey in my writing based on my reading, research, and observations of the particular topic.
Priya (Authors Tree Publishing) : When did you write your first book and how old were you?
Author Annu Pandey : This is my third book. I have written technical books before. So technically I wrote my first book in 2012 when I was 30 years old.
Priya (Authors Tree Publishing) : What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
Author Annu Pandey : I like to serve my family, serve Lord Krishna and read books when I am not writing.
Priya (Authors Tree Publishing) : How many books have you written? Which is your favourite?
Author Annu Pandey : There are three books in my collection. There are two technical books and one self-help book. My favourite is “Understanding Narcissistic Abuse-In Intimate Relationships,” since it comes from my heart and speaks to folks who really need to hear it.
Priya (Authors Tree Publishing) : Do you have any suggestions to help anyone become a better writer? If so, what are they?
Author Annu Pandey : My advice to fellow writers is to avoid writing solely for the sake of money and fame. Always consider how your writings will influence the “making” or “breaking” of your readers and society. For a better future for society, a writer should always consider values and ethics.
Priya (Authors Tree Publishing) : Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?
Author Annu Pandey : They believe I create new content. They feel acknowledged, and my articles have a lot of parallels with their own experiences.

I share how one can identify narcissistic people aroUnd them and especially in romantic relationships. This is the only book on the market that has sUrvival tips for victims who cannot escape. I also inclUde practical advice on positive coping, boUndary setting and healing, sUggested by researchers and clinicians that can be Used by victims and sUrvivors to cope and sUrvive if they do not have a way oUt. I have also clarified with the rational explanations why and how the victims will be damaged in sUch relationships and what they can do aboUt it as per their sitUation.
