A new academic resource, Human Anatomy, Physiology & Pathophysiology-I (BP-104T), authored by Lalit Verma, Amit Rathore, and Mo Imran, has been released as a comprehensive textbook for First Year Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) students. Developed in accordance with the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) curriculum under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the book is designed to provide students with a strong and systematic foundation in human anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
The book focuses on understanding the structure and organisation of the human body, normal physiological functions, and the fundamental pathological changes associated with diseases. It connects normal body functions with common disorders and their underlying mechanisms, helping students develop a conceptual understanding of important pharmaceutical and healthcare-related topics. With a student-centred and concept-oriented approach, the textbook presents scientific information in a clear, organised, and accessible manner.
A key feature of the book is its emphasis on connecting theoretical knowledge with clinical relevance. Important concepts are supported through illustrations, tables, systematic explanations, and examination-oriented learning elements. This approach makes the textbook useful not only for classroom teaching but also for self-study, revision, and preparation for university examinations. It is intended to serve as a valuable academic reference for both B.Pharm students and teachers.
The book brings together the academic experience and scholarly contributions of three professionals from the field of pharmaceutical sciences. Lalit Verma is an academician and pharmaceutical sciences educator with more than a decade of professional experience. He has been actively involved in teaching, academic activities, research, and curriculum-related work since 2013. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. from Bhagwant Global University, Kotdwar, while serving as an Assistant Professor at Bhagwant Institute of Pharmacy, Muzaffarnagar. His academic journey includes contributions to workshops, faculty development programmes, seminars, conferences, research activities, and educational book projects. He has contributed to more than 25 research and review papers, along with academic collaborations and scholarly initiatives. His interests include pharmaceutical sciences, teaching and learning, research, curriculum development, and quality-oriented pharmacy education.
Amit Rathore is a pharmaceutical sciences researcher, academic contributor, and author with experience in teaching, scientific writing, research, and academic publishing. He served as a Lecturer at Shri Ram College of Pharmacy, Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, where he contributed to undergraduate pharmacy education and academic activities. He is currently pursuing his M.Pharm research at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Gurukula Kangri (Deemed to be University), Haridwar. With more than 20 research and review papers to his contribution, he has also served as a Chapter Author in multiple academic books. His participation in more than 25 conferences and 8 workshops reflects his continued engagement with professional development and scientific communication. He is also a Lifetime Member of the PharmLok Society. His academic interests include pharmacology, pharmaceutical research, scientific writing, healthcare education, and academic publishing.
Mo Imran is an academician in pharmaceutical sciences with experience in teaching, research, and academic mentoring. His academic contributions include research publications, book chapters, conferences, workshops, faculty development programmes, and the development of academic resources. His areas of interest include clinical pharmacy, pharmacotherapy, healthcare research, pharmaceutical education, and contemporary pharmacy practice. Through his involvement in research collaborations and scholarly activities, he continues to contribute to the development of pharmacy education and the professional competencies of students.
Together, the authors have developed Human Anatomy, Physiology & Pathophysiology-I (BP-104T) with the objective of making fundamental concepts easier to understand while maintaining academic depth and relevance to the B.Pharm curriculum. The textbook seeks to bridge the gap between basic knowledge of the human body and an understanding of pathological changes, providing students with a foundation that can support their further studies in pharmaceutical and clinical subjects.
The release of the book marks a meaningful contribution to pharmacy education, particularly for students beginning their academic journey in the Bachelor of Pharmacy programme. By combining curriculum alignment, conceptual clarity, clinical relevance, illustrations, tables, and examination-focused learning, the book aims to support students in building strong fundamentals and developing a better understanding of the relationship between human structure, physiological function, and disease processes.
With its academic focus and student-oriented presentation, Human Anatomy, Physiology & Pathophysiology-I (BP-104T) is positioned as a useful learning resource for B.Pharm students, educators, and anyone seeking a structured understanding of the fundamental principles of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
