A significant contribution to the growing discourse on ocean governance and sustainable development has been made with the release of the book “BLUE ECONOMY: GOVERNANCE, SOCIETY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: Pathways to Inclusive, Resilient and Sustainable Coastal Futures” authored and edited by Prof. Gopalakrishna K, Dr. Manjula Mallya M, Dr. Jayashri K, Prof. Ramadas Prabhu, Mr. Gangadhara, and Dr. Sumana B.

The volume comprises the proceedings of the ICSSR-sponsored National Seminar on “Blue Economy, Governance and Society: Pathways to Inclusive, Resilient and Sustainable Coastal Futures,” held on 19 May 2026 at Government First Grade College for Women, Balmatta, Mangalore. It brings together selected peer-reviewed research papers contributed by academicians, researchers, professionals, and students from diverse disciplines.

The book explores contemporary dimensions of the Blue Economy, including sustainable fisheries, maritime governance, coastal livelihoods, marine conservation, climate resilience, blue entrepreneurship, gender and social inclusion, coastal tourism, and sustainable development.
