Book Release: Marne Ke Baad Pyar by Shashi K Verma

Shashi K Verma’s latest book Marne Ke Baad Pyar delves into the deep-rooted traditions surrounding death and the afterlife. The book explores the centuries-old practice of offering prayers and garlands to the departed, a custom followed in India and other parts of the world. Through a thought-provoking narrative, the author highlights the contradiction in this tradition — while prayers are offered for the peace of the departed soul, the constant remembrance of the deceased may, in fact, disturb their peace, especially for those who died suddenly or with unfulfilled wishes.

The story conveys a profound message: true peace for the departed lies not in repeated remembrance but in sending them off with love and respect. The author suggests that the best tribute to the departed is to carry forward their good deeds and positive values rather than holding onto grief and sorrow.

Shashi K Verma brings a personal touch to the story, drawing from his own life experiences. Born on 19 September 1974 in Sangaria, Rajasthan, into a lower-middle-class family, he faced numerous struggles at every turn of life. His encounter with Shri Moti Mehta Ji from Katra Neel, Chandni Chowk, whom he considers his guru, transformed his perspective on life. Shri Mehta taught him to face challenges with determination and to channel his thoughts and emotions into creative expression.

Despite being a businessman by profession, Verma’s passion for music and writing remained undeterred. His life’s journey of overcoming hardships and embracing the lessons from his struggles is reflected in the emotional depth of Marne Ke Baad Pyar. Through this book, Verma not only questions societal norms but also offers a path toward healing and peace — both for the departed and those left behind.
