Satakshi Sahay : I am amazed by the responses I received from my readers, as a first time author, it was hard to keep myself calm and wait patiently for them to read my work and put their opinions out. But I am overwhelmed with few positive responses I received, The appreciation I received and more than my writing, the appreciation that my characters received is amazing. And encouraging me towards this journey.

The Literature Times: What encourages you to become an Author?

Satakshi Sahay: As a teenager I use to have a diary were I used to write short stories and then tear the pages apart. Being honest writing was always a part of my life. When it comes to what encourage me was a bad phase. Going through hard times and unable to find peace, I started searching for anything that could bring my heart and soul to rest and writing came as a saviour. My mother’s tragic death made me sit in a corner and write, hence I realized may be this is what I was made for. To be a writer, to bring a change, to bring love in this world.

The Literature Times: What are your favorite topics of writing? Please tell us something about your interest areas in the literature.

Satakshi Sahay: I write about relationships, about love, I want to write thriller and wish to explore that too, and want to go back in past and write historical romance too. Basically my favourite topic of writing is Emotions… Love, hate, resentment, hope, frightening and that life is beautiful.

The Literature Times: We were hoping you could tell us about some of those writers who had inspired you and whom you follow!

Satakshi Sahay: My biggest inspiration has always been Nicolas Sparks when it comes to writing romance his stories are realistic yet a fairytale every human being wishes for. Apart from him, I really am inspired by the works of Kevin Missel, the way he writes his characters is very inspirational and as a writer I wish that one day I can also make people fell in love with my characters the way I fell in love with his characters. And also Amish Tripathi his books take us on another level of world, that after finishing his book I have to wait for few weeks to get out of the zone and then start a book by another author.

The Literature Times: The titles seem different and catchy; how you decided it? Please let us know the story behind it.

Satakshi Sahay: While writing this book’s final draft I used to listen to one particular song All of the stars, before final draft the book was titled as Devika, but by the end I realized that it’s not just story of Devika… So I was in search for a name, while continuously hearing to one song and a certain line from the song was on my lips, So open your eyes and see the way our horizons meet and that is how I realized that the book is more about leaving insecurities behind and wait for a meet. So where our horizons happened.

The Literature Times: What are your achievements so far? Tell us something about your writing career.

Satakshi Sahay:  I started my writing career through Wattpad, where my first draft for two books are still present. I started as a pass your time thing, but the love and appreciation my readers gave me was beyond my expectations, after which my sister introduced me to a friend of her who was a compiler, looking for co author, where my poem got selected and was appreciated. So I thought that it’s time to give my passion a chance and I took a leap of faith, diving into the unknown I started sending my sample chapters to publishing houses.

The Literature Times: What is your current goal in writing a career? How do you see your future in writing?

Satakshi Sahay: The fact that I am writing my second book says the fact that I wish to grow as an author, I am seeing a future where my work bring inner peace and realisations to the people . My goal is very clear I want to be known as an author and not just an author, I wish to make it big and I know that I can. So I am going after my career as an author.

The Literature Times: Are there any other books being worked by you? Please let us know about your future projects.

Satakshi Sahay: I have previously written two books which are published on Wattpad as ebook, though they are only firstdraft as I always considered writing on Wattpad as an internship for a writer. About my future project I am currently working on another project and soon it will be on its way to be published. Its going to be a story about love and redemption is all I can say right now. My lips are sealed for future projects discussions.

The Literature Times: How you see Indian writing in the 21st century? What changes do you see in the modern way of writing? Do you feel it has been changed by the time?

Satakshi Sahay: well being a reader before a writer a lot has changed,  I have always believed that reading a book from another era will give us an insight about that era. And how it changed. When looking into the past I realized that the human nature has evolved and so the writing .

Before love was always compare to someone’s society status but not anymore, the defination of certain emotions changes with the change in era. Love for someone else was always the mainstream of story but self love is what today’s yputh needs and that is what as a writer we wish to influence. Today’s generation needs to learn self respect and self love. The thinking of human kind has been changed and is always reflected in the books of two different era.

The Literature Times: How easy/ difficult it was for you to publish your book? What message would you like to give to budding authors?

It was heartbreaking, where I worked so hard to bring my work in light and yet faced rejections. I want to tell all the budding authors that it’s okay … It’s okay to break your heart and feel rejected by publishers what is not okay is to give up. You can change someone’s life with your work so no matter how much you have been rejected never give up. Everything will be in your favor sit patiently and write. Believe in yourself and you will receive what you have asked for.
