Mumbai, 12th July 2022: SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), a deemed-to-be University commences admissions for SVKM’S NMIMS, MPSTME, Centre for Textile Functions (CTF) for its Diploma in Textile Technology (DTT) programme of 3 years’ duration in Shirpur Campus.
Centre for Textile Functions started in 2007 as an integral part of Shirpur Textile Industry with the great vision of Shri Amrish R Patel, Chancellor, SVKM’s NMIMS – Deemed-to-be-University. Centre for Textile Functions is the only institute in India where the “See & Learn, Work & Learn” pedagogy is adopted for giving holistic development in the learning process for the students.
Indian Textile industry is growing at a faster rate and needs qualified technicians for its sustainability in the competitive world. CTF is a pioneer in creating a strong cadre of professional managers, confident in facing the emerging challenges in the Textile Industry at the national and international levels. Diploma in Textile Technology (DTT) – is a 3-year programme that delivers students a comprehensive exposure to all areas of textile manufacturing (spinning, weaving, knitting & processing) including Synthetic Fibres, Technical Textile and Garmenting. Quality aspects and management of the textile industry are an integral part of the curriculum to equip students with decision-making capacity. 10th / 12th pass students with a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate are eligible for the programme. To secure admission, students should submit duly filled-in Admission Forms at School along with Xerox copies of documents (Mark sheet, Transfer Certificate, ID Proof (AADHAR) and 2 PP photos or can go for online registration @ www.bit.ly/33Ix3ju. Post-registration the above procedure needs to be done for the completion of the admission process.
Teaching and Learning Process – In most of the subjects, there will be theory and practical classes. There are approximately 32 to 35 contact hours per week. Later the second-year students would be offered In-plant training of 2 months in modern textile industries. During the training, the students are allotted small industry-based project work guided by industry mentors and faculty members. Students are required to maintain a minimum of 80% attendance in the classes for every subject and must complete all the term work prescribed for the subjects.
