The Rock of Gibraltar -By Aman Talwar

It’s Father’s Day, a time to celebrate the beautiful bond between a father and a child, this is quite similar to a labyrinthine. Unlike our other relationships, there is a mysterious aura that always encircles this connect. The love of a father is encapsulated in the gestures of care and protection. One who is always there to shield you from the stormy weather, but maybe finds it a tad bit difficult to shower the same affection in the form of an expression. He will always be there to stand by you no matter how tumultuous the waves of dilemma be, but while conveying his heartfelt emotions he becomes as calm as the sea. Similarly, the child’s sentiments remain shielded in a cocoon, the outer covering of which is always full of respect galore. The endearment at times is unable to find its way to reach the destination of a loving heart. So, when the love is in abundance, then what is it that acts as a hitch for it to flow smoothly to its designated shore? For the vehicle of understanding and attachment to be steered in the right direction, it needs to be fueled with the oil of communication and conversation. It isn’t difficult to bridge this gap of hesitancy if one is able to build it with the blocks of transparency. He is the one who shields us from all the hassles, but we don’t need to shield him from the fondness that our heart has to offer. This Father’s Day, take a vow to express your love for your ‘Rock of Gibraltar’ in the shape of words that are as clear as a crystal, and see the beam of happiness emit on his face.
