Amit Kohli: मेरे लिए यह कृति केवल साहित्यिक पाठ नहीं, बल्कि एक सामाजिक दस्तावेज़ है। आदिवासी जीवन, उनकी संघर्षपूर्ण परिस्थितियाँ और जंगल की राजनीति – ये सब हमारे समय का ताज़ा इतिहास है। मुझे लगा कि इस उपन्यास को हिंदी में लाना ज़रूरी है ताकि व्यापक पाठकवर्ग इन आवाज़ों को सुन सके। प्रेरणा यही रही कि हाशिए पर खड़े समाज की पीड़ा और गरिमा को भाषा के माध्यम से साझा किया जाए।
