The beauty of certain aspects of life becomes manifold when kept to oneself. Try and experience the joy of being in the moment with your loved ones just to cherish it and not with the intent of showcasing it for others. Celebrate accomplishments, enjoy the leisurely strolls, soak in the comfort of being surrounded by the best people, but only for the purpose of seeking happiness and contentment in it for oneself and not for others. Create picture perfect moments, but just for your close circle and witness the gaiety and a sense of fulfilment experienced during that time grow by leaps and bounds. It’s merely because then you get to witness the moment for yourself, not being bogged down by the weight of the make belief world, where things are moulded to be presented as flawless, as everyone wishes to put their best foot forward. Not many wish to share the imperfections, as one is encircled by the fear of being judged. But when these imperfect moments are enveloped by the warmth of love being showered upon by one’s kin, the bright streak of light visibly shines on those not so ‘ideal times’ as well. If it were not for these pillars of strength, shielding and guarding us, one could have easily been lost in the realm of trying to find the so called ‘perfection’ which does not exist in reality. The beauty of any moment, experience or achievement becomes great, because of the shared laughter, bliss, compassion, understanding and triumph hidden in the emotions of the one’s standing with us like the ‘Rock of Gibraltar.’ They are the ones who won’t turn a blind eye and leave one in a lurch when one’s lifeboat is about to capsize. In fact, they are the ones who will put in their heart and soul to anchor the boat with their implicit trust and steer it through all odds to ensure a smooth sail. They won’t be like the dark clouds that appear only to deter the movement and fade away when the warmth of the love of the near and dear ones, akin to the radiant sun shines upon them. So, pause and think, what are we creating memories for? To cherish or just to flaunt, because happiness certainly comes from the former. Don’t miss out on the joy of just being able to rejoice in moments of exuberance for oneself, away from the chaos of trying to fit in a shoe which most probably is not even customised for you in the first place.
