Apple Is Ready To Manufacture iPhones In India

For time and again, the ‘Make In India’ initiative, which was launched by honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi in the year 2014 has yielded some real fruitful results for the citizens of India. Adding another glory into the achievements of the Make In India initiative, now the latest update is that even Apple Incorporated, which is considered as the most reputed & a multi-national giant mobile manufacturing company is all set to start the manufacturing of their iPhone Models in India!

In one of the latest press release by Apple, it was said that Apple is assembling its flagship iPhone 14 in India as the American mobile manufacturing company is looking to shift some production away from China. Well, it is interesting to note that Apple’s main iPhone assembler, Foxconn, is manufacturing the devices at its Sriperumbudur factory on the outskirts of Chennai in Tamil Nadu. Even though, Apple has been manufacturing iPhones in India since 2017, but these were usually older models. Well, now with the iPhone 14, Apple has planned to produce the latest model in its line-up at the device’s launch.

For the gadget enthusiasts the good news is that the new iPhone 14 line-up introduces a series of ground breaking new technologies and important safety capabilities. Moreover, in one of the official statement by Apple, the company has mentioned that they are indeed excited to be manufacturing iPhone 14 in India. The locally manufactured iPhone 14 will be for both the Indian market as well as for the exports. Now, we need to understand that why the manufacturing of the latest models of the iPhone in India will be highly important for us as cell phone users!

It is a common understanding that majority of the iPhone customers buys the latest model of the iPhones only. As the market has witnessed that whenever Apple comes up with a new iPhone Model, people rush into the Apple Stores to get the latest model by exchanging their old models. Well, this behaviour of the customers tells us a lot about the market trends and this is something that even the companies observe, while they plan to launch a new product in the market.

Now, previously only the older model of the iPhones were being manufactured in India, which to be honest was not much use for the consumers. No doubt, the prices of the older models were very much in the budget for most of the users, who looks forward to use a fancy & reputed mobile phone model still the demand was less. As not many people are interested in putting their money into something that has become outdated. People are always interested in the latest offerings by the Apple and this had made them pay a hefty amount of price to possess a latest model of the iPhones!

As the production unit for the manufacturing of the latest models of iPhones existed outside India and that too in China, the import cost along with the cargo cost seriously added a lot to the final price of these latest models of iPhones for the Indian users. Now, some political factors made it even more costly for the Indian consumers to possess the latest iPhone models. Due to some unwanted tensions from China at the bordering regions, the responsible Indian Government had taken some much-required steps to make China pay for its foolish mistakes.

Some of the actions taken by our government includes the various trade sanctions and scrutiny over the imports with China. Therefore, these well-taken steps from the Modi Government resulted in the rise of price for the latest iPhone models. Unfortunately, the iPhone models were being sold at a higher price in the Indian market, adding an unwanted burden to the consumers’ pockets. However, now this thing will no longer be a worry for the Indian gadget lovers, who loves to go for the latest model of the device, which the company launches!

It is indeed a good news that with the manufacturing of iPhone 13 & 14 in India, the final price for these latest models by Apples will be significantly lesser for the Indian customers. As the local production would simply cut down the higher shipping cost and import duties, which will in return will make the dream come of having iPhones into reality for a countless number of Indian cell phone users.
