7 Letters to a Fairytale is a story about longing, imagination, memory, and the mysterious spaces that exist between what we experience and what we believe to be real. At its heart is a boy lost somewhere between dreams, paradoxes, and a fairytale. Calling himself Fictional Khan, he writes seven letters to Medusa—a figure representing majestic beauty and carrying the weight of mythology.
But these letters are far more than simple expressions of love or longing. They become fragments of a life—seven attempts to communicate words left unsaid, memories of days spent together and apart, and thoughts he once believed he would express someday. Yet that “someday” never arrives.
As the letters unfold, Fictional Khan changes and grows, while the distinction between dreams, imagination, memories, and reality becomes increasingly fragile. He cannot completely accept the possibility that he may be dreaming, but neither can he find peace within reality. His conviction becomes both his greatest fortune and his deepest curse.
The narrative takes another intriguing turn with Leon al-nas, the only eyewitness to the world Fictional Khan believes he inhabited. Leon’s observations introduce another version of reality—one that does not completely correspond with the world described through Fictional Khan’s letters.
And so, the reader is left wondering: Are these letters memories? Are they dreams? Or do they represent realities that exist entirely on their own?
Rather than offering straightforward answers, 7 Letters to a Fairytale invites readers to experience the story through emotion and imagination. It is a work that asks readers not simply to understand, but to feel.
Through Fictional Khan’s eyes, ordinary boundaries begin to disappear. Flowers and ashes, presence and absence, tears and rain, humans and fairies, fate and conviction—all become part of the same surreal landscape.
