Ever since the 15th Edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which concluded in this very year something truly interesting came out of it. More than the winning team (Gujarat Titans) & the winning captain (Hardik Pandya) of the IPL 2022, India’s Veteran Wicket Keeper DINESH KARTHIK, became the central point in majority of the discussions among the cricket experts & the game lovers. It is surely interesting to note that in this same year 2022, we have ICC T20 Men’s World Cup as well.

Now, as the IPL games were going on this year during the months of March to May, the discussions over Dinesh Karthik making it to the Indian Cricket Team for this year T20 Men’s World Cup was going on too. Right from the Bilateral T20 Series against South Africa, where he also made a ‘Memorable Half Century’ to this year’s Asia Cup, he found the spot in the Indian T20 team each time & became the essential part of the national side. Then came the bilateral T20 Series against Australia and South Africa once again and in these two bilateral series too, Dinesh Karthik remained the part of the India’s T20 Team where again he won the hearts of the entire nation with his consistently electrifying performances!

Well, DK’s dream came true as the veteran wicket keeper was named in India’s 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad. He kept his place for the T20 World Cup despite immense competition from the younger brigade. It is noteworthy that Karthik is one of the only two cricketers in the 2022 squad to have also featured in India’s victorious 2007 campaign under MS Dhoni, while current skipper Rohit Sharma being the other.
