Early Life and Revolutionary Activities: Khudiram Bose was born on December 3, 1889, in the small village of Habibpur in Bengal. From an early age, he exhibited a fervent desire for India’s independence and was deeply influenced by the revolutionary ideas that were gaining momentum at the time. Joining revolutionary groups such as the Anushilan Samiti, Khudiram Bose actively participated in secret societies committed to the liberation of the nation from British rule.
The Muzaffarpur Bombing and the Sacrifice of Khudiram Bose: Khudiram Bose’s most notable act of heroism was the Muzaffarpur bombing, which unfolded on April 30, 1908. Alongside his accomplice, Prafulla Chaki, Khudiram Bose had planned to assassinate Kingsford, the District Judge of Muzaffarpur, who was known for his harsh treatment of Indian freedom fighters!
On the fateful day, Khudiram Bose and Prafulla Chaki mistook the carriage of the District Magistrate for that of Kingsford and planted a bomb inside. Tragically, the bomb detonated prematurely, resulting in the death of two British women. While Prafulla Chaki died by suicide, Khudiram Bose was captured by the police.
Trial and Execution: Khudiram Bose’s arrest marked the beginning of a series of events that would immortalize him in the annals of Indian history. His trial garnered immense attention and stirred nationalist sentiments across the country.
