About The Author

My name is Bittu Mishra. I am from Bihar, and writing is my passion. I strive to weave the real experiences of life, emotions, relationships, struggles, and hopes into words. I believe that every person’s story is unique; it simply needs to be expressed in the right words. Writing is not just a hobby for me—it is the voice of my heart.

About The Book

My book brings to light the emotions and realities of life that every person experiences at some point. It gives words to the depth of relationships, the pain of shattered dreams, the fire of struggle, and the light of hope. This book is not just meant to be read, but to be felt. My aim is that readers can see a part of themselves within its pages and develop a meaningful connection with it.

Neel Preet: What inspired you to write Koi To Apna Hai?

Bittu Mishra: The inspiration for this book came from the experiences I have personally lived through and observed in the lives of people around me. Today, many people appear happy and smiling on the outside, but deep inside they are completely broken. I wanted to give words to those unspoken pains, shattered dreams, and feelings of loneliness. Koi To Apna Hai is not just a story; it is the voice of emotions that people often suppress and carry within themselves.

Neel Preet: Your book speaks deeply about loneliness, emotional pain, and the silent struggles of young people—what motivated you to explore these themes?

Bittu Mishra: Today’s young generation may look strong from the outside, but many of them are deeply lonely inside. People often find it difficult to share their pain with others. Broken relationships, shattered dreams, and the pressure to prove themselves weaken them emotionally. I have closely witnessed and experienced these feelings, so I wanted my book to reach those who are silently struggling.

Neel Preet: Many readers may relate strongly to the emotional intensity in your writing. Are these emotions drawn from personal experiences or observations of society?

Bittu Mishra: Yes, to a certain extent. This book is not purely fictional. It contains my own experiences as well as the realities of society. I have seen people break down emotionally, witnessed pain in relationships, and gone through emotional struggles myself. Perhaps that is why readers find my writing so real and relatable.

Neel Preet: The book highlights how boys and men often hide their pain behind silence and smiles. Why was it important for you to address this issue?

Bittu Mishra: Society often expects men to remain strong at all times. From childhood, they are taught that “boys don’t cry.” But the truth is that men have emotions and pain just like everyone else. Many young men are unable to express their feelings and end up suffering silently. I wanted people to understand this reality and take men’s emotions seriously.

Neel Preet: How do you think modern relationships and societal expectations affect the mental health of today’s youth?

Bittu Mishra: Today, honesty and patience in relationships are gradually declining. People connect quickly and leave just as quickly. Social media has increased comparison and the pressure to maintain appearances. Every young person is trying to prove themselves in one way or another. This pressure often turns into mental stress and loneliness. I believe people need to become more emotionally understanding and supportive of one another.

Neel Preet: Your writing style feels raw, direct, and emotional. Was this simplicity a conscious creative choice?

Bittu Mishra: Yes, absolutely. I wanted my words to connect directly with the reader’s heart. Instead of focusing on difficult language, I gave importance to genuine emotions. For me, writing is not just about beautiful words; it is about making readers truly feel what I am trying to express.

Neel Preet: While writing emotionally heavy sections, did you ever find the process personally overwhelming?

Bittu Mishra: Yes, many times. While writing certain sections, I felt as though I was reliving the same painful experiences. There were nights when my heart felt heavy as I continued writing. However, I believe that very pain became the authenticity and strength of this book.

Neel Preet: What message do you want readers to understand about emotional vulnerability and mental struggles?

Bittu Mishra: I want people to understand that expressing emotions is not a sign of weakness. Every person breaks down at some point in life. We should listen to one another, understand each other, and offer support. Sometimes, simply having someone by your side can give you the hope to keep moving forward.

Neel Preet: In your opinion, why do people often fail to notice the pain hidden behind someone’s smile?

Bittu Mishra: Because today everyone is busy dealing with their own struggles. People see faces, but they rarely see hearts. Many individuals become so skilled at hiding their pain that no one realizes how broken they are inside. Often, the people who smile the most are the ones carrying the deepest wounds.

Neel Preet: If readers remember one thing from Koi To Apna Hai, what would you want that feeling or message to be?

Bittu Mishra: I want them to know that they are not alone. No matter how painful life becomes, hope always remains. Every hardship eventually passes, and somewhere in life there is always someone who can understand and support you. Never give up, because even in the darkest moments, there is a possibility of finding someone who truly cares.
